My story

Chauncey, born approximately 7/10/2023, is a gentle, sensitive little soul whose world recently changed forever. She lost her beloved human mom to cancer, and now this sweet girl is doing her best to understand a life that suddenly feels unfamiliar and quiet. It’s no surprise that she’s shy and unsure right now—her heart is still aching, and she wears that tenderness softly, like a whisper. But beneath the uncertainty is a deeply loving cat who wants to trust again. When you speak sweetly to Chauncey, when you move slowly and let your voice be kind, she begins to soften. A gentle chin scratch, a calm presence, being held close—these are the moments when she leans in, when her walls lower just enough to let her true self peek through. In those moments, Chauncey isn’t just accepting comfort… she’s quietly asking for it. She truly is one of the prettiest cats you may ever see. Her fur is unbelievably soft, like warm cashmere against your skin, with a beautiful gray-brown topcoat and snowy white underneath—as if she’s wrapped in layers of elegance. Her face is adorned with exquisitely exotic tabby markings that give her an old-soul, almost regal beauty, the kind that stops you mid-breath when she looks up at you. This kind, polite, tender-hearted girl doesn’t need loud or fast or busy. She needs someone patient. Someone gentle. Someone who understands that love can be tender and slow and still be incredibly deep. If you have a quiet heart, a soft voice, and arms willing to hold a fragile but beautiful soul, Chauncey will meet you there—and when she does, the bond you build will be the kind that feels sacred. Adopting from Sheets Pet Adoption is simple! Request an application, answer a few follow-up questions, then when your application is approved, we set up a meet-greet. Or you can find a printable application on our website under the Adoptions tab.www.sheetspetclinic.com Our adoption fee is $100 for each cat 6 months and older, $150 if you adopt two 6+ month-old cats at the same time. $125 for each kitten, $200 for two kittens adopted at the same time. That fee includes spay or neuter, microchipping (we register the chip for you), testing for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and/or FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), current, age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment and deworming. All adoptees receive an “exit exam” from one of our veterinarians before going home. BONUS! Adopt a Sheets Pet Adoption cat or kitten and receive discounted vaccines for the life of your pet! More details on adoption. NO RISK! Adoption fee is refundable for two weeks to make sure you've found a match for your household. Even after two-week period, we'll take the adopted cat back for any reason. Come to our adoption fairs, held every second and fourth Saturday at Sheets Pet Clinic (809 Chimney Rock Court, Greensboro, NC, 27409) from 1-3pm, unless the Saturday falls on an observed holiday. At the clinic on those days, you can visit sometimes 40 kittens/cats at one time, interact with them in a quiet environment, spend as much time as you like with them in exam rooms.
