My story

Cosita is the most resilient, soul warming, lovebug you'll ever meet. She spent 12 years on the streets. She is just learning what life in a home means and is loving it. She is looking to spend her later years in comfort and in your lap. And we think she has earned her retirement! She started her foster journey understandably nervous and scared but Cosita's heart has now opened up! She's curious about the world, eager for affection and love, and knows she's safe now. From hiding from humans to climbing into her foster's lap for snuggles, Cosita's shown she's ready to make up for lost time in giving and receiving affection. In fact, her favorite place is now a lap! This gentle, elegant lady would do well in a home alone or with other gentle cats who know boundaries. Her gentle nature would do well with all humans, but her street smarts come out if she’s ever put in a compromising position, so she might need to ease into learning how to live with kids. She may also need time to warm up to calmer dogs but she definitely is curious about the world and excited to explore new spaces and connections with all sorts of creatures she never would have trusted before. She’ll need a tender, patient adopter who will give her the time she needs to make her move into her forever home. Currently in foster care in East Hollywood. Meet & greets / pickup will be coordinated upon approved application & homecheck video. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation. All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Thank you! ____________________ Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue. We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized. We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis. If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets. If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
