My story

Hi, I’m Ninja… and I’m Looking for My Forever Home &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Hi there… my name is Ninja, and even though it sounds like I’m supposed to be fearless and tough, I’m still working on finding my courage again. I’m probably a Rottweiler mix — that’s what everyone thinks when they see me — but no one knows for sure. What I do know is that I’m a good boy with a big heart who really, really wants a family of my own. I was just a tiny puppy when I was adopted from Central Arizona Animal Rescue (CAAR). I grew up in a home with another dog and two small children — that was the only world I knew for over two years. I learned how to be gentle with kids, play with another dog, and follow my humans around the house. I loved having my own people. Then, one day, everything I knew disappeared. My family returned me to CAAR. I didn’t understand why. Walking back into the shelter after knowing nothing but a home was terrifying. The sounds, the strange smells, the new faces… everything felt too big and too loud. For the first week, I was so scared I could barely stop shaking. But the people at CAAR didn’t give up on me. They spoke softly, moved slowly, and gave me space until I was ready. And then something amazing happened — they introduced me to Lexi, my new dog friend. She’s confident and outgoing, and she seems to think the world is a fun place. So I started watching her… and little by little, I began to think maybe she’s right. Lexi has helped me learn that the shelter isn’t so scary. We play together, we relax together, and she shows me how to be brave when things feel overwhelming. I really like having her around — she makes me feel safe. And now… I’m ready to try again. I’m ready to hope. A Little More About Me &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Probably a Rottweiler mix &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Great with small children &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Great with other dogs &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Neutered &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Microchipped &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Current on all vaccinations &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Sweet, gentle, and just needs some confidence &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Needs the training I didn’t get as a puppy — but I’m eager to learn &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 What I’m Looking For Someone patient. Someone kind. Someone who understands that I’ve been through a lot of big changes in a short amount of time. I’m not the dog who’s going to run through your door and instantly act like I’ve lived with you forever. I’m the dog who will watch quietly at first — learning your voice, your routine, the way your hand moves when you reach to pet me. But once I know I’m safe? I’ll love you with my whole heart. I’d do best in a home with another friendly dog (like Lexi!) and with people who don’t mind giving me time to settle in. Kids? I’m already used to them. Other dogs? I grew up with one. A stable, loving family? That’s what I dream about every night. If You Choose Me… I’ll give you loyalty. I’ll give you trust. I’ll give you love that grows stronger every day. I’ll work hard to learn the things I didn’t get to learn when I was small. And I’ll be grateful — deeply, quietly grateful — every single day. Want to Meet Me? If you think you might be the person who can help me become brave again, I’d really love to meet you. Please email: mike@caaronline.org I’m waiting — hopeful, healing, and ready for my forever family.
