My story

We are a small local rescue in operation for 2 years. We found Ms. Petra running loose in our neighborhood with who we assume is her mom. She was thin and skiddish and very cautious of people in general. We've had her since September 2025. Since that time, we have worked tirelessly to build trust and security to ease her anxiety. We named her Petra because she simply was petrified of EVERYTHING. Progress has definitely been made. She comes when called, she kennels when commanded to, she stays close on leash and she has overall become more confident and a lot less shy/scared. She is the sweetest girl. Very tender, and submissive. She would benefit from a home with patience, routine, and an abundance of love to give. She is a cuddlebug and loves to be held or in your lap. According to our vet, Petra looks to be around and year old and weighs appropriately 10lbs. She is still thin despite putting on some weight since being here with us. She's a work in progress and that work would need to continue in her new forever home as well. She is very shy to say the least. She has done well with our 3 small kids and other dogs in our pack. She mostly stays out of the way. Petra loves treats and she loves belly rubs. When she's being pet, her eyes squint and her tounge licks her lips in utter satisfaction. For her, it's as if there's nothing better in life than petting and being talked to like a sweet little baby. Petra is an escape artist and has managed to get out of her enclosure one way or another. Her only reason for escape is to be close to you. Her adoption fee is $200. It covers vaccines and cost of care up until now. Petra is affectionate and worth loving. Inquire today!!
