My story

Hi, I’m Lucy. I’m about 11 months old, weigh around 40 pounds, and I’m a spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped hound mix. I’m very shy when you first meet me and tend to hang back while I figure things out. New people and new environments take a little time, but once I feel safe, I bond deeply. I’ve formed a wonderful bond with my foster and her son, and it’s shown me just how much I want a family of my own. Other dogs are my comfort zone. I absolutely love them, and having a dog friend helps me feel more confident. In my foster home, I befriended the resident golden retriever, and we’ve become best buddies. Cats are still an unknown for me. I do well with kids, especially those who are gentle and patient. I’m house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. I walk nicely on a leash and am used to apartment-style living, so I don’t need a fenced yard to be happy. I’d do best in a loving home that understands I may need time to settle in and come out of my shell. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul who just needs reassurance and consistency, I’m ready to find the family that will help me continue building confidence and feeling safe.
