My story

Dawn is a 2-year-old female pitbull mix who came to us after being found as a stray. She's a friendly girl with a calm, polite personality and a gentle approach to life.Dawn does well with other dogs and has a polite play style. She's also comfortable sharing space with her canine companions, making her a great candidate for a home with another respectful dog. With people, Dawn is friendly but not overly affectionate-she enjoys company while still maintaining her independence.She's naturally curious and enjoys exploring her surroundings. Dawn isn't overly energetic and tends to have fairly polite manners, making her a nice match for a home that appreciates a relaxed, easygoing dog.Dawn can experience some anxiety and may be timid at times. She sometimes barks at unfamiliar noises and may need a little time to feel comfortable in new situations. With patience, reassurance, and a consistent routine, she will continue to build confidence.Dawn is also enrolled in Forever Home Fundamentals, our positive-reinforcement training program focused on building trust and teaching basic obedience skills like sit, down, stay, and touch. Through multiple one-on-one sessions each week, she is gaining confidence and developing new skills to thrive in her forever home!Dawn would likely thrive in a calm home that allows her to settle in at her own pace while encouraging her curiosity and confidence.
