My story

I found her last June on Nextdoor as a companion for my dog, who was best friends with a cat. Despite giving it time, this has not been the right fit for our home. She is a few years old (per previous owner) and is spayed. Ive had cats my whole life and understand normal feline behavior. This cat, however, has shown patterns of heightened defensiveness and unpredictability. She can be affectionate at times (kneading, sitting in your lap), but she also becomes easily overstimulated and has scratched and bitten on multiple occasions, breaking skin. There was also a recent incident where she reacted quickly toward my dog during a calm interaction, which raised safety concerns. Because of this, I believe she would do best in a calm, quiet home, likely as the only pet with someone experienced who can provide a stable, low-stress environment and continue working with her behavior. This decision is about finding the right match for her needs to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
