Calloway

My story

Calloway (Cal) is a shepherd lab mix that I rescued as a puppy from a kill shelter down south. He is a fun, loving, and snuggly boy that demands attention! He loves to go for walks and is great on a leash. However, sometimes he can be reactive to other dogs. I love him so much; however, my family comes first. Full transparency—he went to go and attack a family member who he thought was "attacking" my mom and daughter (who is only 1) when the family member went to say hello to them by giving them a kiss. Cal has always been territorial at times by showing his teeth but has never gone to attack anyone before. I know shepherds are a territorial breed, but I never thought this would become a worry of mine. After this incident, I knew rehoming him was my best option. Better for not only my family but for him as well. Although I do a good job at preventing situations that trigger his territorial trait, it is nearly impossible to avoid completely. I fear one day, he will bite my daughter.
