My story

Meet Alfie: a 2-year-old Shepherd–Shar Pei mix with a big heart, a low-rider build, and the most expressive face you’ve ever seen. Alfie was dumped in Homestead, FL and became homeless until a kind woman brought him to safety. Now he’s ready for the next step: a an adopter where he can finally exhale, decompress, and show off the gentle, loyal dog he truly is. Personality: Alfie is sweet, polite, and low-key—more “gentleman companion” than chaotic puppy energy. He enjoys being near his people, soaking up attention, and taking in the world with those soulful eyes. He’s also great with kids (toddlers and older), which makes him an easy fit for a home that wants a steady, family-friendly dog. Dog-friendly: Alfie gets along with other dogs and does best with calm, respectful male or female dogs. He’s social without being pushy—he tends to keep things friendly and drama-free. No kitties, please: Alfie needs a cat-free home. Training & routines: Alfie is crate trained, does well with baths, and is learning the ropes with leash walking. He’s already a solid foundation dog—he just needs a little more “miles on the leash” and consistent practice to build confidence and polish. Home vibe: A home with a yard would be ideal, especially while he decompresses and settles into a steady routine. Alfie would love a calm environment, predictable schedules, and people who enjoy a dog that’s happy to hang out, go for walks, and be part of daily life. Health: Alfie is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
