My story

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. He forms strong bonds with his people and is incredibly loyal, but hell benefit from gentle, consistent guidance to become more comfortable with independence over time. A quieter suburban setting would suit him best, giving him the space and stability he needs to settle in and grow into a well-rounded companion.Medical: Jonah is deaf, therefore, his adopter should be willing to use clear visual cues, hand signals, and consistent routines to help him learn communication. WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Jonah was rescued from a municipality shelter and is now ready for his forever home! Personality: Jonah is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog who absolutely loves being close to his people. His gentle nature and loving personality make him a wonderful companion. He enjoys attention, thrives on connection, and has a soft, endearing demeanor that wins over everyone he meets.KIDS: YesDOGS: Yes, Jonah is currently in daycare and does great with other dogs, happily socializing and enjoying their company.CATS: Unknown, but cat test can be done for approved adoptersTraining: Despite being deaf, hes doing wonderfully and has shown how adaptable and eager he is to connect. He is currently being trained in daycare, where hes learning valuable skills while continuing to do great with other dogs and enjoying their company.
