Gershwin

My story

Gershwin is a 7-year-old neutered male German Shepherd, pure bred, looking for the right home. He is a sweet, sesitive dog who bonds deeply to his people and thrives in a structured, predictable environment. He is currently in training at B.A.R.K Institute, where we are working on building his confidence and improving impulse control. Why is Gershwin available for adoption? He has had two incidents where unfamiliar people entered his space, home unexpectedly and due to his anxiety his reaction was two minor bite incidents-in these scenarios,neither required medical treatment,but they are considered a bite history nonetheless. He is currently on medication to support his anxiety and his owners opted not to discontinue medication before sending him to training. Ideal Home: *Experienced dog owner (German Shepherd experience preferred) *Calm,structured household *someone confortable with management (crate/place,controlled introductions) *Adult0only home or older, dog-savvy children Gershwin is a loyal, thoughtful dog who will do best with someone who understands his nature and is willing to provide clear leadership and structure.
