Meet Emu, a sensitive and stunning almost 3 year old male cat currently searching for a quiet, patient home where he can decompress and feel safe. Emu was originally adopted from Forget Me Not after a long stay as a shy cat, and then found himself back in the shelter when his adopters could no longer care for him. Suffice it to say, Emu is NOT amused and would like to go HOME with you as soon as possible. As a shy guy, Emu prefers a low-key environment where he can initially find a warm and cozy spot to hide out while he adjusts to new surroundings. While he is not a typical lap cat, Emu appreciates affection on his own terms; he enjoys gentle pets but usually only for a short time before wishing to return to his peaceful solitude. He is truly a connoisseur of quiet companionship, allowing you to admire his natural beauty from a respectful distance rather than demanding constant attention. While Emu is timid, he has a definite soft spot for Churu treats, which are an excellent way to capture his attention and build trust, even if he prefers to keep his interactions brief. He isn't particularly interested in toys, preferring instead to spend his days lounging comfortably in a high-up, warm kitty condo or watching the world go by from a sunny window perch. He does fine with other cats, and would prefer a home with NO DOGS OR LOUD LITTLE HUMANS, please. If you have a calm, patient household and are looking for a gentle, low-maintenance companion who will eventually show you the rewarding love of a shy cat, Emu is ready to be your beautiful window-gazing buddy. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Emu is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners.
