My foster writes: Good news: we found your new best friend! Ellie is 60 lbs of pure love. She is the perfect companion for a long walk or for a lazy afternoon on the sofa. She loves people and has been a perfect lady meeting new friends on our walks. At home, she loves nothing more than to snuggle up to people on the sofa and try to fit all the way in their laps. She also handles herself beautifully when left alone: no barking, no chewing, just patiently waiting for you to come back. Ellie is high-energy and will need an active family who can help her continue to work on some new skills. Ellie is the sweetest, velvetiest, friendliest girl, and she would be the most loving addition to your home.Meet Ellie!Ellie was found as a stray, tied to a fence on Liberty Ave & Sackman St. She was friendly and easy to transport to the shelter. Ellie is seeking a patient and understanding adopter who is ready to help her refine her manners and provide her with the structure she needs.My Ideal HomeEllie would thrive in an active home with experienced dog owners who can continue her training and help her build better impulse control. While she's affectionate and social, she needs structure and consistency. Ellie's new family should be able to provide her with daily physical and mental stimulation, such as long walks, chews, and food puzzles, to keep her engaged. A calm and quiet environment without young children will help her feel more secure and allow her to adjust at her own pace.
