Iceland - mellow Husky girl

My story

Meet Iceland! Iceland is around 2 years old and 30 lbs., and she is gentle, affectionate, and tender. She’s a bit more quiet and soft than your average Husky, but she warms up quickly and fancies herself to be a plus sized lap dog. She came to a shelter at the beginning of the month with a pile of other dogs when their owner was being investigated for neglect. The owner probably became overwhelmed by the number of animals he had under his own circumstances, and the dogs' care fell by the wayside. Iceland has been well-socialized and well-loved. She’s a very nice, friendly, easygoing lady who's definitely seen a lot and isn't fazed by much. She’s good with mellow dogs who can give her a bit of space (i.e. she's not comfortable with dogs too close to her face), but she really enjoys spending time with people. She was mildly anxious in the shelter but she's been incredibly easy to manage and their volunteers quite enjoyed her. Iceland is adaptable, resilient, and has a rockin' goofy streak. We think she’d be successful in all manner of homes, down the road. She's one of those wonderfully laid back Huskies and really has rolled with so many of life's punches as of late.
