My story

Lucy is a 6 year old pure bred English bulldog. She is a cuddler and is used to sleeping in bed with me or cuddling on the couch relaxing. She’s been with me since before my divorce and children and is extremely protective of me. The only times she’s shown aggression is when I’m around and someone is near me. She bit my mother a few weeks ago for bringing me dishes after dinner and has nipped at my kids when they are playing around me. If I’m not here, there are no problems. My mother, sister, kids, etc can come in the house, walk/run around and she’ll just lay there. It’s clear that I’m the problem when it comes to her. It kills me to have to give her up, but I need my kids and guests to feel safe in my house.
