Meet Liam, the staffie mix puppy! Liam came to the Shelter as an underage puppy with his mom Linda (who is also up for adoption) as well as his five littermates after their previous guardian was unable to continue caring for them. Liam has been growing up for the past few weeks in a foster. His foster reports that he is the tough guy of the bunch. He is often the one that is starting the ruckus with his littermates and in particular loves to start play with is sister Lala. Liam can be a little mouthy during play (typical for puppies his age) and is easily redirected towards toys. Once he gets his energy out, he mellows out. Adopters for this puppy should be mindful that his mother is around 50lb. We aren’t exactly sure who dad is but some of the littermates are a bit wire haired so may be some sort of terrier mix? Liam will need an adopter that can commit to all things puppy – potty training, age appropriate socialization, and life skills & manners. If you’re interested, come down to the Shelter to talk with Client Services staff members about the next steps.Liam is available for preadoption - come meet hiim, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt LIAM*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
