My story

UPDATE Myrtle just adores her foster parents but makes it known that strangers worry her. She is afraid of loud noises and fast movements but gives the best cuddles and kisses to those she knows. She also allows anyone who gives her a ball or squeaky toy to be her friend. Her foster parents say she does well in a crate and seems to be potty trained. HISTORY Myrtle is approx 2-5 yrs old and a poodle mix found as a stray. She is high energy and excited about everything going on around her. We are working on socialization to new people and places, as she can be a bit suspicious of new people. Myrtle is crate-trained but needs to perfect her leash-walking skills. She does well with most dogs and seems indifferent to cats. As she can be a bit "judgy", Myrtle needs a home without small children. WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADIOPTION FEE of $465 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
