My story

We adopted Marlon in May of 2025 and since then he has been a very sweet, cuddly boy. He is 7 years old, has not displayed any sign of aggression and does well with everyone he has come into contact with (kids and adults). He has never tried to run out the door when opened and is not interested in being on a harness to go outside at all. The shelter we adopted him from said he was previously a barn cat. He is a little chunky but healthy, and doesn't mind putting on a cute outfit. Some months ago my landlord discovered he was using the bathroom in the basement in one spot. We got him to the vet and found out he was perfectly healthy and they surmised he just wanted his litterbox in a more private area. We put a second littler box down there and that did the trick. But unfortunately the damage has been done and the smell lingers. We are no longer allowed to have Marlon in the home, and moving is not an option for us. There have been no other instances of urinating outside of the box.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marlon, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
