My story

Marlee's story began the way far too many Great Pyrenees stories do. She was found wandering alongside an older female Great Pyr we believe may have been her mother. Like so many livestock guardian dogs, Marlee had been left to roam unsupervised on rural property, with little guidance, socialization, or human connection. Over time, dogs like Marlee lose their sense of where they belong—and sometimes who they belong to. The older female, lovingly named Marilyn, has already found her happy ending with a wonderful family, complete with children, chickens, and a small hobby farm to call home. Now it's Marlee's turn. When Marlee first came into rescue, she wasn't sure about people. She kept her distance and needed time to learn that human hands could offer comfort, kindness, and safety. Her foster mom has patiently shown her what love looks like, and watching Marlee blossom has been nothing short of beautiful. Today, Marlee welcomes affection. She seeks comfort from the people she trusts and reveals the sweet, gentle soul that was hidden beneath her uncertainty. She is crate trained, wonderful with other dogs, respectful of cats, and good with young children, though she can still be a little shy when meeting new people. One of the most endearing things about Marlee is how deeply she feels. She is sensitive to the emotions of her humans and forms meaningful bonds with those who care for her. Every day brings a little more confidence, a little more trust, and another glimpse of the incredible companion she is becoming. Marlee is looking for a patient, loving family familiar with the Great Pyrenees breed—someone who understands that these magnificent dogs need both security and consistency to thrive. Because Great Pyrenees are known for their climbing and roaming instincts, she will require a securely fenced yard with privacy fencing or wrought iron containment. If you've been looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a story of resilience, Marlee may be the one you've been waiting for. She has done the hard work of learning to trust. Now she just needs a family who will never give her a reason to lose that trust again. To learn more about adopting Marlee, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to tell us where you live and describe your fencing. Marlee is ready for her forever home. Could it be yours?   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 5, 2026, 11:16 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt MARLEE, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
