My story

Meet Bandit! At just 10 months old, Bandit has been adopted twice and, unfortunately, returned both times. As disheartening as returns can be, we believe wholeheartedly in standing behind the animals in our care and doing everything we can to help them find the right match. And in Bandit's case, his returns have given us even more insight into what makes this young guy tick.You see, Bandit is a Heeler mix through and through, and he is proud of it! Smart as a whip, confident, curious, determined, and always ready to figure out what you're up to!When presented with a new boundary or rule, Bandit may politely question it in true Heeler fashion. He likes to know why. And if you aren't confident in your answer, he may decide he's the one making the rules. Once calm, confident, and consistent handling is established, however, Bandit absolutely can and does oblige.Because of this, Bandit needs a positive, confident handler who understands working breeds and is prepared to provide structure, consistency, training, and plenty of mental stimulation. He's an incredibly smart young dog, and keeping that busy brain working is just as important as keeping his puppy body exercised.While he waits for his forever family to walk through our doors, we're actively working with Bandit to keep his working mind stimulated and continue building on his skills. He is a fantastic pup who is incredibly deserving of a home that understands him, appreciates his breed traits, and is ready to help him grow into the amazing adult dog we know he can be.Think you might be Bandit's person?
