My story

Meet Bronson — aka BRON BREAKER Don’t let the name fool you. Bronson may have earned the nickname Bron Breaker, but this approximately 4–5-year-old boy is about as gentle as they come. Bronson is an incredibly mild-mannered, affectionate guy who seems genuinely grateful for every ounce of love he receives. His foster was shocked by just how quiet he is — he went his first several days without making so much as a peep! He warmed up almost immediately, loves snuggling on the couch, and reserves his kisses for very special occasions. When you finally earn one, expect a quick little smooch that will absolutely melt you. He’s the perfect combination of play and chill. Bronson gets VERY excited about breakfast and treats, enjoys his daytime naps, and once his humans are home, he’s ready for a little fun before settling in for TV snuggles. He even plays “patty cake,” putting his paws up to your hands to play. Toys, however? He’s still figuring out what those are. Bronson is wonderful with other dogs and actually tries to entice them to play with an adorable crouch-and-spin routine. He’s also been completely unbothered by cats in both his foster and finder’s homes, and his foster has seen no resource guarding or tension. We think he’d especially enjoy having a playful-but-not-crazy canine sibling who matches his energy. He’s already almost completely potty trained, figured out the doggy door almost immediately, and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. He tolerates kenneling, although he would much rather be wherever his people are. Bronson LOVES having access to a backyard or patio. You can apparently see the happiness on his face when he heads outside — even if he promptly decides he would rather come right back inside. A home with outdoor space would be wonderful, although a family committed to regular walks could also meet that need. He seems to thrive on routine and would be happiest with people who aren't routinely gone for very long workdays. His foster suspects he may be a Pug/Boston Terrior mix (a “Bug”), although we can’t know that for certain without DNA testing. What we do know is that he has the smushy face, the BEST smile, and an unbelievably sweet personality. Bronson doesn't need someone to teach him how to be loved. He needs someone who has plenty of it to give. If you’re looking for a gentle, goofy, affectionate companion who can play for a bit and then happily settle in beside you, Bron Breaker might just break his way straight into your heart. Bronson's vetting should be completed by early October!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bronson, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
