Age: Young adult • ⚖️ Weight: About 35 lbs • ⚡ Energy Level (1–10): 5 💛 My Personality • ✨ Describe me in 3 words: Sweet, chill, gentle • ❤️ My favorite thing in the whole world is: Being close to my people and getting pets once I know you’re safe. • 🤪 My funniest or biggest quirk: I’m definitely a follower, not a leader. I’m basically the little brother who tags along with the big kids, even when they pick on me a little. 😂 • 🥹 The quickest way to win my heart: Don’t rush me. Sit down, relax, and let me come check you out. Once I realize you aren’t suspicious, I’m all about the pets. • 👤 If I were a person, I’d be: The quiet younger brother who follows his older siblings everywhere, gets picked on a little, never starts the drama, and just wants everyone to like him. 🏡 Living With Me • ☀️ My perfect day looks like: Hanging out with my people, following everyone around, spending some time with my dog friends and then curling up near you for pets and relaxation. • 🎾 Things I LOVE: People, affection, other dogs, being included and hanging out close to you. • 🚫 Things I’d rather skip: People rushing toward me or reaching for me too quickly. If you come at me too fast, I may decide you look suspicious and make my exit. 😂 • 🛏️ Where/how I like to sleep: Somewhere comfortable where I can relax and feel safe near my people. He is crate trained. • 🚗 How I do in the car: will tolerate a ride but not a fan would rather be home • ⏰ What I do when I’m home alone: nap. 🎓 Training • 🚽 Potty trained? Still learning his routine. • 📦 Crate trained? Yes once he is in the crate • 🦮 Leash manners: Still learning, especially as he gains confidence in new situations. Currently isn’t a fan of it • 🧠 Commands I know: We’re still figuring out everything this guy knows. • 🌱 Things I’m currently learning: That people are safe and he doesn’t have to be worried when someone approaches him. He’s learning how good it feels to have a home, routine and people he can trust. 🐾 My Friends • 🐕 Dogs: Yes! Creole does well with other dogs and is much more of a follower than a leader. He’s the little brother of the group who tends to tolerate his siblings picking on him rather than causing trouble himself. Another confident, friendly dog could actually help him feel more secure. • 🐈 Cats: Unknown at this time. • 👶 Kids: Yes, he has done well with kids. Kids who understand not to rush or overwhelm him would be best while he’s getting comfortable. • 🙋 New people: Give him a minute. If you approach too quickly, he may run away or bark because he isn’t sure about you yet. Sit down, let him investigate on his terms, and you’ll see a completely different dog. • 🚪 Visitors to the home: He may initially bark or keep his distance while deciding whether your visitors are suspicious characters. 😂 Give him some time without forcing interaction and let him make the first move. 🏠 My Perfect Home • ❤️ My ideal family: A patient, loving family that understands Creole isn’t necessarily going to run into a stranger’s arms immediately. He wants affection and companionship he just needs a minute to make sure you’re trustworthy first. • 🏃 Activity level: Medium. He’s a pretty chill dude who enjoys activity but doesn’t need to be going nonstop. • 🌳 Do I need a fenced yard? A secure fenced yard would be beneficial, especially while he’s building confidence since his first instinct when frightened can be to move away or run. • 🏢 Apartment-friendly? Not at this time • 🐶 Would I love another dog, or would I rather be the star of the show? Either! Creole could be perfectly happy as your one and only, although it may take him a little longer to come out of his shell. A friendly, confident resident dog could help show him the ropes and give him someone to follow. ✂️ Grooming: As a Poodle mix, Creole will need continued professional grooming and regular brushing to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Grooming will need to be part of his lifelong care. ⭐ Just One More Thing… • 💕 What’s something every adopter should know about me? Creole was found as a stray with other dogs, so we don’t know everything about what life looked like before rescue. What we do know is that underneath that little bit of initial uncertainty is an incredibly sweet dog who genuinely wants to be close to people. Don’t judge him by the first few minutes give him a chance to decide you’re safe. • 📖 Tell us your favorite story or memory with me: Watching the difference in him when you stop trying to approach him and simply sit or lie down. Suddenly the scary human isn’t so scary anymore, and here comes Creole looking for attention and pets. • 🥹 Why do you think someone will fall in love with me? Because he’s such an endearing little guy. He has this funny long body, stubby legs and sweet Poodle mix face, but it’s his gentle personality that gets you. He isn’t trying to run the household or be the center of attention. He just wants to belong, follow along and have someone he trusts nearby. • 📸 What’s your favorite photo of me and why?
