My story

*Lil Bit is deaf, but she is well-adapted to her deafness and doesn’t let it slow her down! She navigates everyday life confidently and will benefit from continued use of visual cues and thoughtful communication. Lil Bit also has a history of multiple severe pelvic fractures, likely caused by trauma prior to arriving in Bounce’s care. (Our vet suspects she was previously hit by a car.) Fortunately, these are older injuries that have already undergone significant healing, and surgical intervention is not recommended. While her previous injuries have left her with an abnormal gait, Lil Bit is not painful and gets around wonderfully. She happily runs, plays, walks, and keeps up with everyday life! Because of the severity of her previous injuries, Lil Bit is at an increased risk of developing arthritis or orthopedic discomfort as she ages. Keeping her at a healthy weight and incorporating a joint supplement can all help support her long-term joint health. As she gets older, she may also benefit from additional supportive care, such as physical therapy, acupuncture, or pain management, depending on her individual needs.* Small in name, big in personality! Meet Lil Bit, a small breed mix weighing about 20 pounds. With her striking light blue eyes and spunky personality, this sweet girl is sure to steal your heart. Lil Bit loves to play, run, and show off her impressive zoomies, but she’s just as happy settling in for some quality cuddle time. She does great with other dogs and kids, walks nicely on a leash, and absolutely loves a good game of fetch. She also appears to be house and kennel trained. She may voice a little protest when first crated, but settles down quickly. Lil Bit is deaf, but she is well-adapted to her deafness and doesn’t let it slow her down! She navigates everyday life confidently and is both treat and play-motivated, making her a great candidate for learning hand signals and other visual cues. Playful, affectionate, and full of personality, Lil Bit is looking for a family ready for a fun-loving adventure buddy who is equally happy to curl up for a good snuggle. Lil Bit is a 1-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $250 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Lil Bit is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. She is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days. Adoption applications cannot be processed onsite at adoption events. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772 or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! If you would like more information on our organization please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lil Bit, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
