My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Special NeedsThis sweet little girl is a special needs cat. She is always purring and so very loving. She is a playful kitten. Her special needs do not slow her down!  She was found stuck in a chain link fence. Due to the amount of time that she was stuck, there was nerve damage. After her initial exam, she was found to have no broken legs or spine. Foxie has difficulty using her back legs, but she is slowly getting stronger and using more leg power. She is able to use her back legs  if she has carpet. It is more difficult to get traction on hard wood floors or tile. Due to the nerve damage, she is also unable to squat when she uses the litter box. CATsNAP has modified a litter box to better suit her needs, and identified the best litter for her. The vet said she had a  neurologic deficit which shows itself in a inability to always make it to the box to pass urine. She has no problem with passing her stool.  This may be related to her being trapped so long in a chain link fence with unbearable pressure on her bladder.  She has a slight tremor on her right leg.The problem is she finds it hard to squat.  The hope is that exercise and time will make the right rear leg more stable. However, there is so much life in this girl. After she was spayed the vet said no climbing, running or jumping and that was the hardest thing for Foxie to do! She wanted to move everywhere, climb everything and beat up on her friend.  She loves to run all around her room and get attention from any passing humans!  She would make an excellent companion for someone with a big heart for rescues.       Thank you for your interest in a CATsNAP cat or kitten!   If you would like to meet a cat, please complete the online application located on our website catsnap.org.    We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes.  For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet.   Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! We care deeply about our cats and want the best match for all involved.   All CATsNAP cats and kittens are:  Vaccination against Panleukopenia (Distemper), Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus  Vaccination against Rabies (if animal is over 4 months of age) Testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)  Initial de-worming, flea, and ear mite treatment Sterilization of the animal prior to adoption; no exceptions Micro-chipping as mandated by state law Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 29, 2025, 1:52 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Foxie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
