My story

Hi, it’s me Golddigger, aka Goldie! I may be 12 years old, but I’ve still got plenty of personality packed into my tiny 9lb frame. My hobbies include spinning in circles (a signature move of mine, thanks to mild dementia), burrowing under blankets like a little mole, and sniffing my way through long, leisurely walks. I don’t bark—ever. Not at strangers, not when I’m left alone, not even when my foster sibling gets riled up. I’m a quiet, polite little lady who enjoys the simple things in life: food (peanut butter is my absolute favorite), cozy naps, and the security of a calm home. Speaking of walks, I love them! I’m great on a leash and will happily wander with you for a mile or more, sniffing all the interesting smells along the way. However, one thing I will not do outside is potty. Nope, I’m a dedicated indoor kind of gal when it comes to that. I either wear a diaper or use pee pads (though I don’t seek them out—I just go where I go, so full coverage is key). My past is a mystery, but my foster mom thinks I may have come from a hoarding situation or just never learned proper potty habits. I’m also a fantastic travel buddy! I don’t mind car rides at all, as long as I have a comfy spot to curl up in. I also don’t have separation anxiety—when my foster mom leaves, I just settle into my designated space and wait for her return like the independent little lady I am. I get along with other dogs and don’t bother cats at all. I may not be the cuddliest pup around (I’ll let you pick me up, but only for short periods), but I’m learning to trust and enjoy gentle attention. At the end of the day, I just need someone who understands me. I don’t ask for much—just a warm, safe home where I can nap, snack, and do my little circles in peace.
