My story

Hi there! I’m Nyla, and I’m a laid-back, low-energy girl who loves hanging out at home and taking cozy naps. I had a fun adventure with a volunteer recently, and we spent a lot of time together doing activities I love. We went for a peaceful walk in the park, which was lovely and calm. I also got to meet some new people, though, I admit, I can get a bit anxious around strangers. When I first met new people, I felt stressed and showed it by tucking my tail, lowering my ears, and giving some hard stares. But with a little patience and time, I’m learning to feel more comfortable. I don’t really like being around other dogs or cats, but I’m making progress. When I see other dogs, I get a little excited and want to bark or pull on the leash. I’m still learning how to be more relaxed, but I’m getting better! My biggest challenge is my anxiety around new people, but I’ve been working hard on it, especially with some training and rewards when I stay calm. I’m crate-trained, housebroken, and super loving. I’m definitely a couch potato and enjoy just chilling out at home. Because of my hips, I can’t do long walks, but I’m perfectly content to relax and spend time with you. I’m a great companion and have so much love to give. With a little understanding and care, I know I can continue to work through my anxieties and be the best companion ever!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nyla, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
