Meet Salma, a lovable 6-year-old who’s looking for her forever home and is ready to shower you with endless affection! Salma is incredibly loyal and loves nothing more than to be with her people. If you want a dog who’ll make you feel like the most important person in the world, Salma is the one!Once settled into the routine of her new home, Salma will match her person`s pace, whether it’s a high energy activity like a long walk and a game of fetch in the yard, or a more low-key activity like hanging out or snuggling up for a nap in bed. She`s most happy simply being with her people. Salma is very receptive to training and learning new tricks. After just a couple of weeks in her foster home, she’s already learning new commands through clicker/treat training, like `sit`, `stay` for long periods, and return the ball during fetch. She also loves going on her long morning strolls, taking the time to sniff. She spends most of the walk with a loose leash but can sometimes pull when she`s eager to say hello to a stranger. Thankfully she`s been very responsive to corrections and settles down with guidance. Salma enjoys playing and chewing on tennis balls and squeaky toys. When it’s cuddle time, she’ll sploot right on top of you, snuggling in like a warm, comforting weighted blanket. She is house trained and hasn`t had any accidents in her foster home. Salma gets along well with the small senior dog in the home. She`s successfully lived with cats in previous homes and currently lives with them in her foster home. For both dogs and cats, Salma needs proper and gradual introductions over a few weeks so she doesn`t get overwhelmed. Salma loves being the centre of attention so she`d also be happy being the only pet in the home!Going to a new place is scary for anyone, especially Salma. It`s important her new family is patient and understanding as she adjusts to her new home. Salma thrives in a home with routine, boundary setting, and regular exercise. Salma`s crate training is coming along well. She may not be the best fit for an apartment, as she cries out when first in the crate. Every day Salma is getting more and more comfortable with the crate and she now settles within several minutes. Once she settles, she quietly sleeps throughout the night in her crate. She`s especially happy if there`s a frozen kong or toy inside her crate.Salma needs to be adopted into a home without children. Salma would thrive in a calm, loving envir
