My story

Meet Harriet! Harriet entered San Bernardino City Animal Control as a stray, and it's sad thinking of this sweet, blind girl fending for herself. After Harriet wasn't claimed during the required hold period, the shelter reached out to us for a safe exit, and on March 13th, she became a Frosted Face. Harriet is estimated to be around 15 years old, weighs 15 lbs., and is just the sweetest girl. Like many dogs rescued from shelters, Harriet faced a tough start—she became seriously ill with pneumonia. Thankfully, after a month of dedicated treatment from our amazing veterinary team, Harriet made a full recovery. We’re thrilled to see her thriving! Harriet celebrated her new lease on life with a weekend getaway at a volunteer’s home, enjoying her first taste of freedom. She also joined other Frosted Faces at the San Diego Humane Society’s Walk for Animals, where she had the chance to meet potential adopters and charm the crowd. Here is what we learned about Harriet during her getaway: "Harriett is the easiest, most mellow dog! She is fully house-trained, perfect in the car, and with cats and other dogs. She loves everyone! Harriet is blind but still enjoys slow walks and can find food dishes and dog beds with no problems. She doesn't make a peep! Harriet is pretty independent but enjoys snuggles and will paw you when you stop petting her. Ear rubs are the key to her heart!" Be sure to watch the videos of Harriet enjoying pets and curling up close for cuddles. Harriet is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling to enjoy love and attention in the comfort of a home while she waits for her forever family. Might that be you? To schedule a time to meet this beautiful soul, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Harriet, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
