My story

Meet Chaps! Chaps came to us from San Diego Humane Society on April 23rd. He is 8 years old and weighs 10 lbs. Chaps is the sweetest little cuddle bug who loves to snuggle up in your lap—and the best part? He’s perfectly happy to share the space with other furry friends! On walks, Chaps trots along, sticking close, and allowing the leash to be super loose. Chaps has been spending time in a Foster home, and we received this great update: "Chaps is happiest when he's right by your side—whether curled up in your lap or lounging nearby. He’s a true gem: gentle, joyful, and brimming with love. His warm, easygoing personality makes him the ideal companion, effortlessly blending into your life with his wonderfully mellow nature. Fully housetrained and impeccably well-behaved, he’s a delight to have around. He enjoys walks but doesn’t rely on them—his true preference is being carried in your arms for most of the stroll. He’s happiest when he’s close to you, taking in the sights from the comfort of your embrace. His presence is pure joy. The way to his heart? Love, kindness, and delicious food. He enjoys a mix of people food, kibble, and wet food, a small reminder of the thoughtful care he’s been given. It's clear he comes from a home filled with warmth and compassion—he’s incredibly sweet, respectful, and adapts seamlessly to new surroundings. Beautifully trained and carrying the love of a well-treasured past, Chaps is a testament to the care and affection he's received. His gentle spirit and impeccable manners make him a truly special companion. Giving him his medication is effortless—just wrap it in a bit of peanut butter, and he takes it happily twice a day.
