My story

Meet Play-doh! Play-doh entered Los Angeles Animal Care and Control - Lancaster as a stray who looked like he hadn't been well cared for in quite a while. He was underweight, his coat was in poor shape, he had pressure spots, long nails, and very worn teeth with multiple fractures. When Play-doh wasn't claimed during his stray hold, we scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on March 14th. On top of his physical concerns, he cowered in fear and pulled back from touch. It was heartbreaking. Play-doh has been living in a Foster home since two days after he arrived at FFF, and he is healthier, happier, and stronger. He has gained 10 lbs. and is responding well to physical therapy. We are so happy he is getting lots of well-deserved TLC in the comfort of a home. Play-doh is flourishing! Here's what we've learned about Play-doh: * You build his trust with a calm voice, slower movements, and yummy treats! And he takes them sooo gently. * He’s incredibly dog-friendly – big dogs, small dogs, even puppies who lick and nip at his face – Play-Doh is completely non-reactive and gentle. * He loves the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with multiple pups to help build his confidence. * He has started playing with toys! * Because his paws are deformed (like flippers), he drags them, which leads to sores, so we are trying various grippy socks and booties. Custom braces are a possibility. Play-doh wants to go, go, go, and we want to help him do it! * So far, the best surfaces for him to walk on are the beach or a grassy parks. * He has learned that comfy beds and blankets are wonderful to sleep on. * He has a great appetite. * He has started wagging his tail! * He enjoys car rides. Be sure to watch the videos of sweet Play-doh to see his resilience and big heart. He is pure love! Play-doh deserves the best forever home ever. Might it be with you? Email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet this very special boy!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Play-doh, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
