Name:  Domino     Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd and lab mix    Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of March 2025        Gender:   Female Approximate Weight: 47 lbs Gets Along With: Domino does well with other dogs. We haven't seen her with kids or cats but are happy to discuss integration strategies with any potential adopters.  Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here.  Special Adoption Considerations: Domino is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! This Very Good Girl raised her babies Pan, Pie, Pizza, Pepperoni, and Prosciutto to be amazing family pets and they went off to get their own homes. Now Domino is eager to get her own humans. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, trips to new destinations - she wants it all, please! Most of all, she wants to give love and be loved.She promises adoring gazes and happy tail wags and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say?
