Nala

My story

A26627 Nala is a grey colored, approximately 11-year-old, 30-pound, spayed female, Miniature Schnauzer mix. She entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 03-28-2025 due to the fact she was peeing in the home and that was causing marital problems. Nala is a friendly, calm, sweet senior girl here in the shelter. She is right at the front of the kennel waiting for love and affection as soon as she sees you. Our staff says she is a sweet senior girl looking for that nice quiet forever home and someone to cuddle with. She was easy to leash and well behaved during our walks. A little nervous walking by the other kennels, but she is new to the shelter. She would probably do best in a home with no small children due to how nervous she is in this new environment. She will need some training as she doesn’t respond to any commands. But she is a good girl who is easy to handle. The previous owner says she is not house broken, but she has lived with other dogs, but not cats or children. Nala will be a loving companion in her new forever home. Nala had x-rays and bloodwork done by our medical team prior to her groom and dental. She has changes in her bloodwork that lead us to suspect she may have cushings disease. She also has a mass in her abdomen that may need ultrasound and further diagnostics at your veterinarian. Copies of our medical tests will be given to the adopter/rescue. Nala is still a happy girl and we hope she can find a home that will give her the love and comfort she deserves.
