My story

Meet Sharma! 5-year-old Sharma spent her early years on a property in Ramona, living with many other dogs in the backyard. When her owner needed help rehoming some of them, three were welcomed into the Frosted Faces family — including Sharma. When Sharma arrived at the beginning of April, she was understandably very scared after having her world turned upside down. She had never left the property previously or been around any humans other than her owner. Even so, Sharma's sweet and gentle nature shone through! Sharma has learned that she can trust her new human friends and to understand that she is safe. She enjoys gentle pets, loves treats, and does well in a large play group with dogs of all sizes. We're so proud of her and how far she has come! Sharma is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling to help her get ready for a loving forever home. Her Fling Mom shared this great update: "We have spent the first week with Sharma laying pretty low at home letting her get used to her new space. This week we will start trying to venture out a bit more now that she seems more comfortable with us. Sharma is completely house-trained and has had zero accidents in the house. She sleeps overnight in a kennel, and we often find her laying in her kennel with the door open if she wants some space to herself. Sharma is very, very smart! She picked up on the feeding routine fast, and she runs to her kennel to wait as soon as she sees me pull the food bowls out. She’s a great eater and finishes all of her meals. We have both cats and dogs (big and small) and Sharma is great with everyone. She is nervous around new people but never in a bitey way. She’s warmed up to us pretty well and will approach us for attention and sit next to us on the couch. Sharma now walks! Using a harness and longer leash really seems to help her feel more comfortable. We are going to keep practicing, but she’s really doing a great job at being a “real dog”. Sharma’s a great girl and a patient family will get an excellent companion!" Stay tuned for the next update from Sharma's fling family!
