Rango

My story

A26706 Rango is a black and brown colored, approximately 3-year-old, 79-pound, neutered male, Labrador Retriever / Rottweiler mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 04-01-2025 due to the fact the neighbor complained to many times to the police about his barking issues. Rango is a friendly, calm and happy boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to figure out this shelter environment and why he is here. Our staff says he is a little shy and timid at first, but once he knows you, he is a very friendly boy. He was easy to leash and well behaved during our walks. If something surprises or scares him during the walk, he will freeze, or pancake and you have to sit and love on him for a minute to get him going again. He has had some training and will “sit” upon command. He has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. The previous owner says he is house broken, been to the dog park, mostly an outside dog and he has lived with other dogs, cats and children. We would recommend a home with no small children, with how he pancakes and gets scared with loud noises. They may be too much for him at first. Rango will be a loving, loyal family member in his new forever home.
