My story

Becca is a delightful mix of charm, independence and just the right amount of mischief. In her foster home, she’s fully house- and crate-trained (because she’s a lady) and mastered the doggie door like a seasoned pro. Training? Well, let’s just say she marches to the beat of her own drum. She might come when you call her… if she doesn’t have something better to do. But she does seem to understand the word “no”—she just reserves the right to pretend she didn’t hear it. She’s working on her leash skills and making good progress—unless you’re headed somewhere she deems boring. But if you’re up for taking time to smell all the smells, some joyful bouncing or a well-earned nap, she’s all in.Becca enjoys toys, playing with other dogs (if they’re willing) and handing out kisses like she’s running for office. She has politely ignored the resident chickens and guinea pig, which is a plus. No cats or kids in her current home, but odds are she’d be a fan—she’s just friendly like that.In busy, stimulating places, Becca can get overwhelmed and taking some distance to smell all the good things can help her warm up. Even when overwhelmed, she remains her sweet self although more shy.If you’re looking for a 40 pound, sweet, loving dog with just a little bit of selective hearing and a whole lot of personality, Becca is your girl.
