My story

Hi! This beautiful lady is Bella. Bella has shown that she is strict on what her boundaries are and may not be snuggly with everybody that she meets. However, she is slowly making baby steps to befriending one of our staff members here. We think with the right person, lots of patience, and low expectations, she could be a very lovely house cat. She just probably won't be a lap cat anytime soon (if ever!) but we love her anyway. She's older, and set in her ways, so we can't blame her for being a little sassy about this sudden change in her life! She seems to be won over best with catnip and treats, as she's finally starting to come out of her bed to watch people clean or check them out when they sit with her. She just needs time to get used to our presence. Patience goes a long way with Bella, and she seems to trusts us more if we don't push her out of her comfort zone. She has not shown interest in being pet yet, so it may take her more time than usual before she will let her person touch her. Bella landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. Unfortunately her previous owners had financial hardships that affected their ability to care for her. She has never lived with a dog, and she came in with another cat who she doesn't seem to be a particularly big fan of, so we believe she would be best suited to be your only pet. She would do better with older respectful teens and adults, no younger kids, since she has solid boundaries that kiddos may be more tempted to cross because she's cute and hard to resist!
