Uno Saveasoul

My story

Uno is a playful, curious, and happy-go-lucky girl that is sort of clumsy and socially awkward with her cat friends. She likes playing with other cats and toys and seems like the “class clown” with her antics. She likes people and will come around for pets but all she wants to do is to play. Uno thinks everything (even human hands) is a toy, but she is gentle about it. She likes cuddling with people, playing with teaser toys and sleeping in big cats beds on the floor. Uno is from Kuwait, where she was found crying under a car in a parking garage at barely 4 weeks old. Veterinary assessment revealed a skull fracture and an infected open wound but her functions and mobility were normal, so she was fostered while her injuries healed. She began having seizures so her rescuer wasn't sure she would make it. Because she was young the vet said her fracture would heal as she grows and the only thing to do about the seizures was to see if they improve as she gets older. Thankfully that happened and the seizures are gone! One eye is smaller than the other but we don't know if it is from the skull injury or a previous eye infection. A 4Paws ophthalmologist examined her and she is visual in both eyes, but her behavior in foster indicates she may have difficulty interpreting what her eyes are seeing. She seems to have trouble with shadows and distances. Uno will reach out with her front paws to touch other cats and people to initiate play and to confirm locations of things. Because of her impairment, Uno will need a patient adopter that can understand her limitations and need for a very slow integration as she adapts. She uses the litterbox like a champ, keeps herself groomed well and eats both wet and dry food. Uno has been microchipped, spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and given rabies and distemper vaccines.
