My story

Meet Bloom! Bloom entered Downey Shelter as a stray, and when she wasn't claimed, we scooped her up on April 22nd to become a Frosted Face. She is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs 18 lbs. Bloom is a sweet, gentle soul looking for a quiet place to land. She’s not one to seek out attention, but she’s content just being near you and will happily snooze beside you if lifted up. Bloom has been on several outings with volunteers and other adoptable Frosted Faces and earns positive reviews for riding nicely in the car, doing well with the other dogs, and being a pleasure to have along! One outing was to a local winery where Bloom enjoyed roaming around the grounds, sniffing and exploring. Her next outing was paddle boarding! Although Bloom was very comfortable being tucked in between a volunteer's legs and seemed to enjoy the ride, she asked to stay on land for her next outing! When Bloom went home with a volunteer for a few days, we learned she is a very mellow, low-maintenance houseguest. Here's the full scoop: "Bloom spent a few nights with me and did well with my cats, dogs, and chickens! She is a great eater and very quiet. She likes to wander around and takes a little while to settle, but will eventually curl up and nap. Bloom is a sweet little grandma who needs someone who appreciates an independent dog. I left her in a crate for a few hours while I ran errands. and she just slept. Bloom is a little wobbly her feet, but she gets around just fine and even enjoys slow strolls outside. Bloom has the most beautiful, long eyelashes, and she will eat any treat you give her!" If you're looking to give a sweet senior a soft landing, Bloom might be the one.
