My story

Bethany may look like a tiny hippo, but don’t let her size fool you—this sweet, loving girl truly thinks she’s a lap dog! When you first meet Bethany at her kennel, you’ll see a burst of excitement as she wiggles and jumps, eager to get outside and into your arms. But once she’s outside and has some room to breathe, her true personality shines through: gentle, affectionate, and full of love. B absolutely adores people and she thrives on attention and affection. She’s housebroken, crate-trained, knows commands like “sit,” “lay,” and “roll over,” and walks nicely on leash. She enjoys her treats and loves playing with balls. Bethany came from a rough start and can get very scared around yelling or harsh environments. She needs a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and secure. Because she was surrendered after conflicts with other pets, Bethany must be the only animal in the home. She’ll reward her special someone with endless cuddles, loyalty, and the biggest, sweetest heart you can imagine. Bethany is ready to be the center of someone’s world. When I met her at the kennel she couldn’t contain her excitement, was jumping up and down, couldn’t wait to get out of her kennel. Once I was able to leash her, she couldn’t run fast enough to get outside (but who can blame her?!). Once we got outside and in the yard, she really mellowed out, and her true personality was able to shine. She is such a sweetie and just loves to be loved. Despite her size, she really thinks shes a lap dog. She has a body like a hippo but a heart of gold. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
