My story

Meet Charlie Fern! Charlie was surrendered to Baldwin Park Shelter by her owner for unknown reasons. We scooped her up on April 26th to become a Frosted Face. Charlie is 10 years old, weighs 40 lbs., and is SO sweet. Charlie is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about her in a home setting. Her Fling Mom shared this great update: "Charlie is a delightful dog who acts younger than her years. We've learned that Charlie likes to play catch and even brings the ball right back for more fun! She also enjoyed a sunset Mother’s Day hike at the Grassland Preserve. Charlie had a bath, and while she may not have loved it, she was very well behaved and easy to manage. Here's what else we've learned: * no accidents in the house. Takes care of business promptly on walks. * she rides really nicely in the car. Settles right away and can jump into my small SUV on her own. * sleeps quietly in her crate all night. * behaves nicely around my other larger dog. She respects his space and walks nicely alongside him. * she eats her meals (kibble and fresh pet mixed). * she has been so sweet to everyone she’s met, and has taken a particular liking to my husband. This girl is so darn sweet and filled with joy over the simple things; a ball to play with, a bed to lay on, a bowl of food, a walk with friends. We enjoy having her here so much. My husband has said on several occasions since she’s been here, “I don’t understand how this dog ended up in a shelter, she is such a GOOD DOG!” We would love to keep Charlie, but unfortunately (for us) she likes to chase our cats.
