My story

Who’s this? That’s right—it’s Barkley at home with his human brother. Just like any other young dog, Barkley loves being part of the household and even snuggles up to sleep with his brother. He’s come such a long way, and we couldn’t be prouder. A huge thank you goes to Jessica Anne Colletti at Jessica Anne: Canine Behavior Solutions for her hard work, to Barkley’s amazing foster family for their dedication, and to our own team of experts for their continued support. The foster family has made the difficult decision that it’s time for Barkley to find his forever home where he can continue to grow and thrive. Barkley still has some quirks—he can lunge at people, mostly out of protectiveness toward his foster mom—but with training, he’s making great progress. His perfect match will be an experienced Staffordshire Terrier owner who understands reactive, sensitive dogs. Barkley is a blue-nose “Velcro dog” who loves to stick close to his person, and his favorite things include sticks, balls, walks, and snuggles with his family. His ideal home is in a quiet neighborhood, with no cats or children, and while another calm, non-reactive dog would be a plus, it’s not required. Most of all, he needs plenty of time, patience, and love. Barkley is no longer alone—he has a whole team cheering him on, and now all he needs is his forever person.
