Willow from the East Side

My story

7/1/25 update from foster: "She plays well with my kelpie/heeler mix because they have the same type of energy and Willow is more submissive towards her.  She can handle rough playing with my husky but if she gets too excited she starts showing frustration signs and starts barking and biting harder. My husky doesn't usually get mad so he won't give her signs to leave him alone except for walking away. So I usually only let them play for a few min. at a time. I would recommend for someone with experience and that knows how to handle Shepard type dogs.She's a great dog, very easy to train, it's just the Shepard/Heeler genes that really run hard in her " Willow and siblings were witnessed being dumped on the side of the road on the East side of San Antonio, Texas. Luckily the witness rescued them and got them safely to us. They look forward to getting out of the heat and into the mountains! Willow is very playful, especially with other dogs. She is also spunky and a cuddlebug. She takes a bit to warm up and feel confident, but that is time well spent when the reward is Willow! She loves to chew on toys and gather them up playing with multiple at once. She's had no luck with puppy pads... because she's doing amazing with potty training! No accidents in crate and she holds it until she’s able to go outside. Crate training is also going well. Current leason- she can walk up stairs but is still a little afraid to go down. She loves other dogs and is playful with them. She hasn't been around kids but her foster thinks she would do amazing. No exposure to cats yet. Mum appears to be a Shepherd mix and is pictured last. Willow is being fostered in San Antonio, Texas, and waiting for a committed adopter or foster to bring her up out of the Texas summer heat to our cooler, more agreeable Colorado climate. ##2383666##
