My story

My foster writes: I'm a bit of a scaredy cat but I can be brave when it comes to food! I like to bathe in the sun and bird watching from the windows. Please give me a lot of head scratches and butt pats.What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with many cats at in my previous home, so I would likely do well in a multi-cat home.Leo is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, he is beginning to appreciate attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people, we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.A volunteer writes: I think Leo might be someone who is used to blending in a little, which has its benefits but since we invite all of our cats to shine as brightly as they can, Leo's learning to reach his tiny paws out for opportunities. Perusing our options like a seasoned pro, Leo's taken an interest in some of the different things we have to offer. For example, snacking on treats and even permitting pets when doing so. He likes silverine sticks and is now known to enjoy a good laser show when it comes by his condo. When we're not trying to learn about Leo through entertaining him, Leo is very sweetly content to entertain himself. With little paws tucked to look out at the window or stretched out on his bed, Leo's a cat who is ready for a family but isn't quite sure how to ask for where they are, which is why we hope you'll come in and visit with him soon.
