Merida is a stunning orange domestic shorthair with the spirit of her namesake—independent, strong-willed, and quietly brave. She approaches the world on her own terms, with a cautious but curious heart. Shy at first, Merida takes time to warm up in new environments, but once she trusts you, she’ll gladly accept gentle pets and share quiet companionship. Just don’t expect her to be a lap cat—this princess values her personal space and prefers affection in short, respectful bursts. True to her fierce and free-spirited nature, Merida doesn’t enjoy being held for long and would do best in a calm, toddler-free home where she can set the pace of her interactions. She’s not one to follow anyone’s rules but her own, and she’ll thrive with someone who appreciates her quiet strength, respects her boundaries, and lets her be the queen of her own castle. Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!! Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Merida, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
