Sybil

My story

Sybil is a beautiful 1year old pupper who looks like a blend of a smooth coat collie/ border collie and a whippet. She weighs about 35 pounds and is extremely sweet and very quiet. She’s a delightful sweetie-pie and so beautiful with one sky-blue eye and her other lightish hazel eye. She also has lovely markings and hardly seems shed at all. Sybil is wonderfully gentle! Sybil is very, very shy. She came to me as an almost feral dog – she was raised with several other dogs by an animal hoarder, so it’s likely that she didn’t get a lot of one-on-one attention. But she’s come a very long way! She lets me pet her, and she takes treats from my hand, and she comes into the house with no problem. (She is also housebroken! ) Sybil is wonderful with all other dogs – big and small. Despite her shyness, she’s not at all aggressive, and she’s never been aggressive toward children, men, or women. The funniest thing about lovely Sybs is that she never barks – if she wants to say something, she sort of howl rather than barks. It’s really a delightful sound! If you have the wonderful patience to deal with a timid dog like Sybil, she’ll make the best companion pet ever! My experience with shy dogs is that when they get to know you, they make the best buddies ever because they truly recognize that you have been kind to them. Of course, Sybil is fixed and her adoption covers all her shots. She’s perfectly healthy and I have her medical records for her new family. I am a firm believer in allowing people to take a new buddy home for a “sleepover" to be sure your family, your other pets, and whomever you adopt all get along. Of course, we ALWAYS take our rascals back if things don’t work out. I really think beautiful Sybil will make a perfect pet if you have the patience to get to know her and she gets to know you!
