Woof! Hi there! My name is Chicken. Yep, you heard that right—Chicken! I have no idea why they gave me that name, but don’t worry, you can pick something better for me. Maybe Buddy? Shadow? Midnight? I’d love to hear your ideas, just anything but Chicken! I’m a 3-year-old black lab mix with a shiny coat and a heart full of love. I weigh about 45 pounds—just the right size for cuddles on the couch or adventures outdoors. My story began as a stray wandering the streets of Yuma and I ended up at animal control. My previous family never came to get me out of there and it was kinda scary there, maybe that is why they called me Chicken because I was so afraid there. But my luck turned around when the kind folks in Yuma arranged for me to take a long car ride to Central Arizona Animal Rescue and now I am here to San Tan Valley. I am hoping to take the next big step in my life, finding a new forever home. Let me tell you a little about myself. First things first, I am neutered, up to date on all my vaccinations, and I’ve even been microchipped—so you will never have to worry about losing me. I am good with other dogs (though I like to enjoy my food and treats without sharing—it’s a personal thing). As for cats, well, I have not met any yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. I am friendly with people and love making new friends! I’m not bad on a leash either, so walks will definitely be a great way for us to bond. Whether it’s playing fetch, going on hikes, or just hanging out and enjoying some belly rubs, I am up for it all. If you think you could be my new best friend, please reach out to Mike at mike@caaronline.org to set up a time to meet me. Who knows? Maybe we’re meant to be! Can’t wait to see you soon—and don’t forget to bring your best name suggestions. I can’t wait to start this new chapter with a brand-new name and a loving home! If you are unable to adopt me, please share my video to help me find my forever home. For the other dogs available for adoption or to make a donation to help us, visit www.caaronline.org.
