My story

🐾✨ WELCOME Tairn ✨🐾 Please give a warm welcome to Tairn 🖤 — our newest RetiredToRescue pup! He’s not a bulldog (gasp 😱), but he is magnificent, and he needed us. That’s what matters most. 💛 Tairn is one of 15 dogs we offered to take in after our local shelter put out an urgent plea for help due to overcrowding. They’re overwhelmed, and while bulldogs are usually our focus, the dog overpopulation crisis is touching all breeds — including doodles like Tairn. 💔 Tairn was extremely fearful at she shelter as any puppy would be, he was at risk of not making it out.😫 He’s 6 months old, 49 pounds, and a stunning black Labrador/Poodle mix with soulful brown eyes that’ll stop you in your tracks. 😍 Tairn had a microchip, so he was held longer while the shelter tried to reach his family — but no one came for him. So now, he’s ours. 🫶 🌟 A few things to know about this dazzling doodle: 🖤 He’s graceful and incredibly fun to watch run 🖤 He’s affectionate, dog-friendly, and responsive to other dogs’ cues 🖤 He has some anxiety, but he’s already showing great progress 🖤 He appears mostly potty trained and sleeps peacefully in a pen 🖤 He’s smart, impressionable, and HIGHLY trainable Now, a reality check: doodles are being overbred and too often abandoned when people realize they’re not low-maintenance fluffballs. You’re mixing two high-energy, working breeds and expecting a couch potato… that’s a recipe for rehoming. 😣 So for Tairn, we’re looking for a doodle-experienced home — one that’s ready for training, structure, and fun. He’ll likely grow to be 70+ lbs, and he deserves a life full of love, activity, and consistency. 🐾 👉 Interested in fostering to adopt?
