My story

Sweet, soulful Meena has been with us at RetiredToRescue for 8 months—and we are still searching for her happily ever after. This gorgeous girl was found and surrendered by a kind Good Samaritan last September after clearly being used for breeding. Since then, she’s blossomed in our care… but she’s still waiting for her forever. 💕 A few months ago, Meena developed IVDD, lost strength in her back legs and was in pain. 😔 Thankfully, with rest and treatment, she recovered well! 🙏 But to help prevent flare-ups, she needs ongoing laser therapy and a home that will be mindful of her mobility—no couch-jumping, stairs, or roughhousing. Her current foster family loves her, but they are unable to commit to the follow-up care she needs. So now, we’re looking for one of two things: 💌 A FOREVER HOME that will love and support her or 💌 A NEW LOCAL FOSTER willing to take her to laser therapy as needed (rescue will cover all costs and supplies). 🐕 Meena must be an only pet—but she gives enough love to fill the whole house. She’s super affectionate, smart, crate trained, and potty trained.
