My story

Ever wished you could have all the sass and theatrical flair of a husky—but in a more portable size? Dreams do come true, and her name is Imogen (aka Idgie). We suspect she’s part Australian Shepherd, part Husky, and 100% diva. She`s got the smarts of a herding dog and the voice of a full-on Husky — and she’s not afraid to use it when she wants your attention, dinner, or a second dinner. While she can be a little aloof at first, give her a moment (and maybe a treat), and she’ll soon be nuzzling up for belly rubs and following you around like your new best friend. She’s affectionate, playful, and just the right mix of independent and cuddly. Idgie does have a bit of vision impairment — mostly affecting her depth perception — but don’t worry, the vet doesn’t think it’s progressive, and it definitely doesn’t slow her down One thing to know: Idgie isn’t a fan of being left to her own devices — if unsupervised, she’ll happily find something (anything!) to chew on. She does best when crated while you`re away, even if she insists she doesn’t need one the moment you close the door. Don’t be fooled—you must stay strong. She respects confident leadership, but will absolutely test you with her patented “sad face + dramatic flop” combo. She’s also surprisingly athletic for a couch snuggler—we think Idgie could be a rockstar in agility if given the chance. She also walks nicely on leash and is fully housebroken, because even tiny divas have standards.Idgie is ready to bring chaos, cuddles, and comedy into your life. If you’d like to take Idgie home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Imogene *Idgie*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
