My story

Annona A17531128 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old -Timid to start especially when a leash is involved-She cautiously explored the yard outside, coming over occasionally to check in-Inside she was more relaxed-She’s food motivated, sits occasionally and takes them very nicely-She’s not currently playing with toys but was starting to get playful with me. Small zoomies and play bows.-Seems play might be new to her but she’s enjoying it. She briefly played with a ball but didn’t know what to do.-She likes pets and belly rubs although it all seems newer to her as well-She’s affectionate and gives kisses-She just needs a little time and patience. I think she’ll be very playful once she’s comfortable-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. •The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
